Step into the System:
A Virtual Reentry Simulation
This is an interactive simulation that allows you to experience the challenges of reentry after incarceration. The simulation is based on real-life experiences of people who have been incarcerated and are returning to their communities.
Many complex issues face people who are reentering society:
Community supervision, include parole and probation
Banking
Healthcare
Education
Difficulty obtaining employment
And more
These issues can make daily life difficult and can lead to recidivism, or a return to incarceration. By playing the simulation, you will experience some of the challenges that the formerly incarcerated face.
The simulation was developed by Austin Smith during the ReEntry Acceleration Program at the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School.
